Wonga Road towels are machine washable at a warm setting (60 degrees max) and we recommend tumble drying to keep them soft and fluffy. Towels should be washed and tumble dried at least twice before first use to ensure any excess fluff is gone and the towels are fully absorbent. Fabric conditioners should not be used as they decrease the towel’s ability to absorb water.
Make sure your towels do not come into contact with cleaning products containing bleach. Facial cleansers and skin treatments contain benzoyl peroxide which can also damage towels. Towels should be immediately washed after use in pools as the chlorine can cause colour loss.
If you catch the towel and pull the pile, snip off the pulled loop with a pair of scissors.
We test all our towels for absorbency, shrinkage, colour fastness and shedding to ensure they wash and wear well.
Combed cotton – Combing removes small fibres to reduce shedding and increase strength of the fibre.
Egyptian cotton – Our Egyptian cotton is certified by the Egyptian government to ensure its authenticity. It is a log-stem fibre that originates from regulated sources on the Nile delta.
Supima cotton – This is a silk-like yarn with extra-long fibres that are smooth and long lasting. Grown in California’s sun-drenched San Joaquin Valley and the American southwest, Supima® is short for superior US Pima cotton
GSM -This stands for grams per square metre and indicates the weight of the towel. The higher the GSM, the heavier the weight and the more absorbent the towel will be.
Double Pile – 2 strands of yarn woven together to ensure great strength and absorbency. We refer to this as most hotel towels are two-ply.
